Roberts Rūrāns is an illustrator and artist based in Riga. After graduating from the Printmaking Department of the Art Academy of Latvia and co-founding the design studio Overpriced, he established himself as a freelance illustrator.

Rūrāns works primarily in acrylic, and his aesthetic has evolved from early influences of contemporary minimalism toward modern art, with its expressive exaggeration of form. More recently, he has turned further to the past, drawing inspiration from the Middle Ages, where intricate detail and complex compositions come together in images rich in meaning and visual depth. He has completed commissions for a wide range of clients, including The New York Times, Vogue, NATO, the Olympic Games, Coca-Cola, Apple, and Hermès, among others.
