Lukk-Toompere’s work draws on a rich command of traditional techniques, from drawing and graphic art to painting and collage. Her use of collage brings realistic detail into dream-like compositions, giving her images both material presence and atmosphere.
Her works are held in the Estonian Museum of Art, the Estonian National Library, and the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre. She has illustrated books for publishers in Italy, Germany, Russia, and the Netherlands, while books created in Estonia have appeared in translation in Japan, Korea, France, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, and beyond. Her recognition includes the IBBY Honour List and awards in Estonia and Germany.
