Reinis Pētersons

b. 1981
Latvia
Pētersons is a multimedia artist and illustrator whose work has developed across illustration, animation, stage design, web art, and experimental video. He has illustrated more than forty-five books, created stage designs for the Latvian Puppet Theatre, and made the charcoal-animated short Ursus.
Since late 2024, Pētersons has turned toward analogue video and glitch-based image-making, using CRT screens, oscilloscopes, vintage broadcast equipment, and DIY signal chains. Rather than treating glitches as digital effects, he works with the physical behaviour of signals and machines. These recent works have been shown in international group exhibitions in Miami, Montreal, Berlin, and Tokyo.
