A preview for press and cultural partners introducing Baltic Island. Guests are invited to explore the exhibition, learn more about the curatorial concept, and discover the programme of illustration, animation, talks, screenings, and special events. The preview will also offer an opportunity to meet and speak with the curators Bianka Soe and Ieva Babilaitė.

A panel talk exploring contemporary animation from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania as a space of visual experimentation, poetic storytelling, and independent artistic expression. The event will offer an opportunity to meet Baltic Island’s animation programmer Anna Zača and learn more about the ideas behind the screening programme. The conversation will also include Estonian media professional Daniel Vaarik, bringing a broader perspective on storytelling and audiences.The discussion will be moderated by Baltic Island’s head producer Sergej Grigorjev.

An evening of solidarity and art held as part of Baltic Island, featuring around 20 works by Baltic artists in support of Ukraine. The auction is not only a fundraising event, but also a shared gesture of care, empathy, and solidarity, showing how artistic communities can respond to crisis through creativity and collaboration.
All proceeds will go to charities supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees: NPO Stand With Ukraine Japan, NPO Ukraine House Japan, NPO Kraiany.

A conversation on how Baltic illustration is seen and interpreted in Japan, exploring visual storytelling, cultural expectations, and the ways artists from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania move beyond familiar regional frames.
The talk will feature Baltic Island curators Bianka Soe, Ieva Babilaitė, and Eiko Ojala, with additional speakers to be confirmed.
Ieva Babilaitė’s participation in Baltic Island is supported by the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
