Ieva Babilaitė

Ieva Babilaitė is an artist, illustrator, educator, and curator based in Vilnius. She graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with degrees in Graphic Art (MA) and Art Therapy, and is currently an associate professor in the academy’s Graphics Department. She is also a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union and the Lithuanian section of IBBY.

Her practice spans book illustration, graphic art, and curatorial work. Babilaitė has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group shows across Lithuania and internationally. In addition to her artistic work, she leads creative workshops and educational programs, and has curated exhibitions such as Paper: Tradition and Experiment and IMAGO! (Book Art Exhibition).

She has illustrated many books for both children and adults, several of which she also authored. Her work is characterized by versatility and a continuous exploration of new forms of expression across illustration, graphic art, and paper-based media.

Her achievements include inclusion in the IBBY Honour List for the picture book I Will Fly (2014), the LDS Golden Muse Golden Badge No. 74 (2022), and the Domicėlė Tarabildienė Prize (2026) for her illustrations in The Little Fox Is Rich (text by Triinu Laan). The same work was also selected for the Bologna Illustration Exhibition 2026.
