Pikkov’s work brings together children’s book illustration, graphic design, posters, and wider visual projects, always with a strong sense of story and character. She approaches illustration as a way of giving written stories a visual life, using expressive characters, gentle humour, and carefully chosen details. Her images are shaped by experimentation with different techniques.

Her achievements include the Edgar Valter Illustration Award, a nomination for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, and recognition in Estonian book design competitions. Her books have been nominated for inclusion in the White Ravens catalogue, and her works are held in the collections of the Estonian National Library and the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre, as well as in private collections. Her illustrations have also been exhibited internationally.
