Anna Vaivare

Anna Vaivare is an illustrator and architect based in Riga, Latvia. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at Riga Technical University and holds a master’s degree from the Printmaking Department of the Art Academy of Latvia.

Vaivare began her career in illustration through comics, with her work first appearing in the international anthology š!. Since then, she has illustrated more than ten children’s books and collaborated with publishers in Latvia, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Her illustrations and comics have been exhibited both locally and internationally.

She is also the author of the book The Second Concert. The book explores a universal theme: a child’s willingness to take risks, the development of self-esteem, overcoming doubt in any chosen field, and the vital role of emotional support that adults can provide in this process.

In her storytelling, she is particularly interested in biographical motifs and everyday struggles. Anna’s illustrations are characterized by vivid, expressive strokes, dynamic compositions, and rich attention to detail.
