With a background in architecture and printmaking, Vaivare approaches illustration with a strong sense of structure, rhythm, and lived detail. Her path into illustration began through comics, with early work appearing in the international anthology š!, before expanding into children’s books, murals, and publishing collaborations in Latvia, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

She has illustrated more than ten children’s books, while her comics and illustrations have been exhibited locally and internationally. As the author of The Second Concert, she explores risk, self-esteem, doubt, and the emotional support that helps a child move through uncertainty. Her storytelling often turns to biographical motifs and daily struggles, shaped through vivid strokes, dynamic compositions, and rich attention to detail.
