Stasys Eidrigevičius

b. 1949
Lithuania
/ Poland
Shaped by Lithuanian roots and a career later developed in Poland, Eidrigevičius’s work began with bookplates, miniatures, and illustration before expanding into posters, masks, pastels, drawing, painting, and graphic art. His images are instantly recognisable for mask-like faces, sparse compositions, and quiet psychological tension, where a single gesture or object carries memory and symbolic weight.
Internationally recognised across several fields, he has received major awards in Barcelona, Chicago, New York, Bratislava, Paris, Toyama, and Katowice. His achievements also include Lithuania’s National Prize for Culture and Arts, the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas, Poland’s Silver Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis, and the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.
In 2024, the Stasys Museum opened in Panevėžys, creating a permanent home for his work and marking one of Lithuania’s most significant artist-dedicated museums.
