Melece brings together illustration, comics, animation, and directing with a visual language marked by wit, tenderness, and close attention to everyday detail. Her characters often carry a quiet comic charm, while her stories move with warmth, sincerity, and a sharp sense of observation.

Her illustrations and comics have been published internationally, while her animated films have travelled widely through festivals around the world. Her film The Kiosk received the Swiss Film Award for Best Animation Film, becoming a key work in her animation practice. Later published as a picture book by Liels un mazs, The Kiosk has since been translated into more than twenty languages.
